Every year Faro produces some of the most recognized national events. Through the music, art, gastronomy, and sports, these festivals bring together thousands of visitors from within and outside the country. You will not want to miss even a second of so much fun.

Sunlight House B&B Faro
Fair with over 400 years of history, which began in the reign of King Philip I, with the intention of stimulating the economy of the city of Faro after being destroyed by English privateers.
Today, it is one of the major annual events in the city and brings thousands of people from all areas of the Algarve and southern Spain to Faro.
When: October's secund/third weekend
Festival of objects and puppets. Dedicated to training, focusing on sharing knowledge, promoting ways to create and work this art. The event brings countless national and international artists to the Algarve developing several workshops and plays between Faro, Loulé and São Brás de Alportel for two weeks, targeted to children and adults.
At the end of each school year the Academic Week celebrates the completion of another university cicle of studies of the Algarve's University students with lots of Music, Exhibitions, Parades, serenades.
When: May, first 2 weeks
The White Night of Loulé, is a unique street event in Portugal. White is mandatory. Dozens street artists give soul to this party, between jugglers, fire eaters, man-statue, clowns, magicians, musicians, gymnasts or dancers. DJs and bands will echo electronic sounds on the streets.
When: Aug 31 (each 2 years)
Every year, around the month of May, the city of Faro becomes the international capital of design, where institutions, companies, professors, researchers, professionals and the general public can, through various activities, have contact with various existing projects and talents in these sectors of the creative industry, fostering knowledge among the different groups in our society.
When: Between May and June
Music, Street Performers, Literature, Stand-up Comedy, Exhibitions, Street Food, Crafts and a space for children: Baby F.
Every year more than 15,000 flock to the old town to be part of this Portuguese culture manifestation.
When: September's first weekend
For 11 days you can enjoy the best seafood coming from the Ria Formosa and other regional specialties handmade, based on traditional recipes from our district.
As usual, the daily entertainment is guaranteed by local and regional artists.
When: From July's last weekend until Aug fist weekend.
International Folklore Festival of Faro. The FolkFaro, shows to the people of Faro, and to all who visit the Algarve capital, the magic of the meeting of those who preserve and keep alive their roots - their cultural heritage.
During 9 days and representing 7 countries, more than 300 artists, including musicians, dancers and extras, share their feel folklore.
When: Last week of August.
Motorbike, Beer, Concerts, Strip and lots of craziness!
Every summer for the past 35 years , more than 20,000 people from all over the world get united at "Sitio das Almas" for their love of motorcycles.
"Live to ride, Ride to live!"
When: Second weekend of July.
The Med Festival, was born in 2004, organized by the Municipality of Loulé, is a World Music event inspired by the Mediterranean culture, which transforms the historic center of Loulé in a parade of artistic events and fusion of cultures.
